Tweak Your Morning
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, right?
Think again! We’ve discovered that the timing of when you eat anything is what dictates how your body functions for the rest of the day. We are so excited to share one of our all-time favorite tweaks we personally integrate into our lives every single day. And we really mean every single day. Get ready to tweak your morning with us and change your metabolism for life!
When you eat immediately upon rising, within 15-20 minutes, your body receives the nutrition and sustenance it needs to keep your metabolism running at a high level. You need to “fill your tank” immediately, or your brain notifies your body that it’s in danger of running on empty.
Think of your metabolism like your car: when you have a full tank of gas, you’re more likely to blast the AC, speed and be more carefree in the petrol department. But, when you’re on the freeway, on empty and 30 miles from the next gas station, you sure as heck use the gas pedal as little as possible, coast through all the downhills and kill the AC. We know from experience.
Now, let’s put that all together. When your body has a full tank of “gas,” it is more apt to burn “gas” — and in this case, by gas, we are talking about calories and energy. Even better, it will burn more calories without you even doing anything. That’s awesome! But, if your body has to wait too long to be filled up in the morning, your body will conserve energy and store any future incoming calories in the day, too. No bueno!
We use this simple juice recipe helps us give our body fuel first thing in the morning so it can speed down the highway with the AC pumpin’ all day long. Enjoy this delicious juice to boost your metabolism, POUND Posse!
- 3 handfuls organic spinach
- 1 ½ organic apples
- 2 organic lemons
- 1/2 organic cucumber
- 1 handful organic mint
Juice all ingredients in your favorite juicer. This will take about 15 minutes, tops, from juicing to cleaning the juicer. That’s quick! Then, top with lemon sparkling water to make your juice into an extra-special treat.
If juice isn’t your thing, get your hands on an apple, grapefruit, handful of raw, soaked almonds or a Greek Yogurt when your wake up. Then, get ready, jet out the door, and eat a real breakfast when you get the chance!
