The Royal Christening
The most adorable member of the royal family had a very big day today! Our favorite royal 3-month-old was christened as Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge in the Chapel Royal under the watchful eye of his glowing parents, William and Kate.
Don’t feel too disappointed that you didn’t get an inviten — the tiny ceremony only included 22 guests. Among them were the Queen, the Archbishop of Canterbury, and George’s über-good-looking Aunt Pippa and Uncle Harry. Plus, George’s seven new godparents, a collection of Will and Kate’s childhood friends.
Following in the footsteps of his fashion maven mama, Prince G. looked darling in the traditional royal christening gown — a replica, since the original has begun to deteriorate. Kate wore cream Alexander McQueen. (And a matching fascinator, obvi.)
During the ceremony, the happy baby was christened with water from the River Jordan in the Lily Font, a baptismal font commissioned by Queen Victoria in 1841. Then, the family left for Clarence House to celebrate with preserved cake from Will and Kate’s wedding, and a nap (we’re guessing).
