Fashion Week Diaries
Sure, we see tons of gorgeous (and quirky!) clothing, hairstyles, makeup looks, accessories and them some during Fashion Week. But what sticks in our heads are those memorable makeup looks and accessories that make a lasting impression. Now that Fashion Week is officially over, we wanted to share our favorite things from the past week with you gals. Think crazy mega-buns, tattoos, gorgeous handbags, and more!
Space age bun (pictured above): Nick Irwin, TIGI’s Global Creative Director, created a galactic-inspired bun to complement The Blonds’ quirky collection that was inspired by Tweety Bird’s head and Marie Antoinette’s high hair. Probably not a look we’d ever wear ourselves, but it’s definitely something we’ll never forget!
Gothic romance at Marchesa: The theme of the collection was Gothic romance, so Odile Gilbert of Kerastase added a punk-like touch to the hair with Ostrich features, while Gucci Westman of Revlon added a gorgeous violet lip. To top it off, celebrity tattoo artist Scott Campbell inked up the models. Faux tattoos, of course, but the outcome was simply stunning.
Jenny Packham’s runway hair: The collection pieces were gorgeous, no doubt. But it’s the hair we can’t take our eyes off of. The designers were inspired by a cult-Australian film, Picnic At Hanging Rock, which is a story set in the Edwardian era but filmed in the ’70s. TRESemme Stylist Jeanie Syfu took inspiration from both time periods and created a stunning ‘do with lots of volume and curls.
Pink wigs & silver lips: Betsey Johnson never ceases to amaze us. Her show guarantees a good time and is always filled with fun surprises. This year it was bubblegum pink wigs created by hairstylist Rodney Cutler and sparkly silver lips from Violent Lips. Perhaps a good Halloween costume idea?!
Alice + Olivia handbags: It’s Stacey Bendet’s second season of handbags, and we’re already counting down the days until spring after seeing her new lineup. The clothing was gorgeous as well, but it’s the bags we’re dying over. Embellished with jewels and silver beads and in gorgeous coral and mint shades, these will definitely be a staple for spring.
